Weekly Message November 8, 2026
Beloved brothers and sisters,
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear two beautiful stories of healing. Jairus comes to Jesus desperately seeking help for his daughter, while a woman who has suffered for twelve years reaches out simply to touch the hem of His garment. Two very different people, two very different struggles, but both are met by Christ with the same compassion, attention, and love.
There is something important here for all of us. Jesus reminds us that every person matters. Every life deserves dignity. Every person carries a story, and often we have no idea what someone else may be going through.
As a Church community, this is something we should carry with us every day. We can make a difference in someone's life simply by being kinder, more patient, more welcoming, and more willing to reach out. Sometimes the most meaningful expression of our faith is not something extraordinary. It is a phone call, a kind word, a little understanding, or taking the time to notice someone who might otherwise go unnoticed.
We often speak about the community we are building at Saints Constantine and Helen. That community begins with each of us. Not with what we expect from others, but with what we are willing to offer one another.
So this week, let's encourage one another to make a little more room for kindness. Be generous with our patience. Reach out to someone. Welcome someone new. Choose understanding when it would be easier to judge.
We may never know just how much a small act of love can mean to another person. But we know that Christ sees every person, and He calls us to do the same.
May we become a community that makes every person feel seen, valued, welcomed, and loved.
With love in Christ,
Fr. Evagoras
