Christ is Risen!
Beloved brothers and sisters,
As many of you know, I am currently in Greece together with our A. Fantis 8th grade students and parents for our annual senior trip. Each year, this journey becomes so much more than a school excursion. It is a pilgrimage of faith, culture, history, and identity.
Throughout the trip, we have visited some of the most important spiritual and historical sites in Greece, walking through places connected to the roots of Orthodoxy, the history of Hellenism, and the story of our people. From churches and monasteries to museums, historic landmarks, and moments of prayer together, every stop is meant to deepen their understanding not only of Greece, but of themselves.
At A. Fantis, we speak often about our core values: pistis, philosophia, philotimo, parea, philhellenism, and philoxenia. This trip brings all of those values to life. Our students are not simply learning from textbooks anymore. They are standing in the places where history happened. They are worshipping in churches that have stood for centuries. They are hearing, seeing, tasting, and experiencing the living tradition of Orthodoxy and Hellenism together.
Perhaps most importantly, this trip reminds our students that being Greek Orthodox is not simply an identity inherited from the past. It is something living, active, and meaningful that they are now called to carry into the future.
Please continue to pray for us throughout the journey. Pray for safe travels, good health, and for our students and families to return home inspired, strengthened, and even more connected to their faith and heritage.
With love in Christ,
Fr. Evagoras
