Weekly Message June 14, 2025

My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
In the few days since our Brooklyn Greek Festival came to a close I’m still overwhelmed by the beauty of what we experienced together. Once again, thank you to every single person who showed up, served, donated, volunteered, invited friends, and made time in their already busy lives to support our Cathedral and school. This festival was a team effort in every sense of the word, and it was a joy to witness our community—young and old, new and longtime members—working side by side with love and joy. What a powerful image of what the Church is meant to be.
And as one major chapter closes, another comes to a joyful end: this Saturday, we celebrate the graduation of our A. Fantis 8th grade students. These young men and women have grown up before our eyes—some since preschool—and have been formed not only by their academic education but by the values and faith that we strive to instill in every child. Graduation isn’t just about a diploma. It’s about gratitude—for our teachers, our families, our Church, and most of all, for God who has guided these students every step of the way.
As a parish, we rejoice with our graduates and their families, and we give thanks for the school that has raised them. A. Fantis is more than a school—it is a ministry of this Cathedral, and we are proud to send these students into the next chapter of their lives knowing that they are loved by this community and supported by their faith.
To all of our graduates: we are proud of you. To all who made this school year possible: thank you.
And to all of us who call this Cathedral home—may we continue to show up, serve, support, and build up one another, always to the glory of God.
With love in Christ,
