Weekly Message January 11, 2026

by Father Evagoras Constantinides on January 09, 2026

Beloved brothers and sisters,

Each year, following the Feast of Theophany, the Church invites us to sanctify not only our lives, but the places where daily life actually happens — our homes. House blessings are a beautiful and meaningful part of our Orthodox tradition, and I want to encourage every family to take part in this practice each year.

When we bless a home, we ask God to dwell there: to bring peace where there is tension, health where there is struggle, and love where family life unfolds day after day. For our children especially, this moment leaves a lasting impression. Seeing the priest pray in their home, sprinkling holy water, and offering blessings helps them understand that faith is not limited to the walls of the church, but is meant to shape and protect every part of life.

House blessings are not long or complicated. They are quick, simple, and prayerful — but deeply powerful. They are also a gift to me as your priest. They give me the opportunity to visit with your family, pray with you personally, and spend time getting to know you better, one on one, in the place where your family gathers and grows.

If your home has not yet been blessed, or if you would like to schedule your annual blessing, please contact the church office today to book your house blessing. I look forward to being with you and praying with you in your home.

With love in Christ,

Fr. Evagoras
