Weekly Message August 10, 2025

by Father Evagoras Constantinides on August 08, 2025

Dear Beloved in Christ,

This week we found ourselves standing on Mount Tabor, alongside Peter, James, and John, witnessing the radiant glory of Christ in the feast of the Holy Transfiguration. In the heart of the Dormition fast—a season often marked by humility, simplicity, and preparation—we are given this divine glimpse of majesty. It is a reminder that ascetic effort and divine vision are not separate; they are deeply connected.

The Transfiguration is not a moment out of place in the fast, but the very proof of its purpose. We fast not as a burden, but to be made light-bearing. We pray not out of obligation, but to see more clearly the God who already walks with us. And when Peter says, “It is good for us to be here,” he speaks not only of the mountaintop but of every holy moment we make room for through faith.

Let this be a week of prayerful clarity. In the fast, we don’t retreat from joy—we ascend toward it.

With love in Christ,
