Weekly Message April 4, 2025

Dear Beloved in Christ,
Tonight, we gather for the Akathist Hymn, one of the most beautiful and powerful services of Great Lent. These sacred hymns to the Theotokos uplift our hearts and re-center our focus on the journey toward the Cross and the Resurrection.
Immediately following the service, join us for a special Prosforo-making session led by our very own George Poulon. This hands-on experience connects us to the heart of Orthodox worship—the offering of bread that becomes the Body of Christ. It’s a beautiful opportunity to learn, participate, and pass down a tradition that is central to our liturgical life.
Tomorrow, stop by the Brooklyn Greek Pop-Up Market, where A. Fantis School will be featured among other community vendors. Come and show your support for our school and enjoy the day with friends and neighbors from across the borough.
Then on Sunday at 6:00 PM, join us for a deeply moving Vespers of Contrition, where we will be joined by His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia. This special Lenten service is a moment to pause, reflect, and open our hearts to God’s mercy and healing grace as we prepare for the sacred days ahead.
As Holy Week quickly approaches, now is the time to refocus on what truly matters: Jesus Christ. If your Lenten journey hasn’t been what you hoped—it’s okay. It’s never too late to begin again. Christ is always ready to welcome us back with love, and the Church is here to guide and support us every step of the way.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend as we worship together, grow together, and prepare our hearts for the joy of Holy Pascha.
With love in Christ,
