Saint Andrew, known as the First-Called Apostle, holds a special place in Christian history and devotion. Saint Andrew's legacy extends beyond his role as an apostle. He is particularly venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Church, where he is recognized as the patron saint of Russia, Scotland, and Greece, among others. According to tradition, after Christ's ascension, Andrew tirelessly preached the Gospel in various regions, traveling extensively and spreading the message of salvation. His ultimate sacrifice came in the form of martyrdom. Tradition holds that he was crucified on an X-shaped cross, now known as the "Cross of Saint Andrew." This symbol remains a powerful emblem of Christian faith. Andrew's unwavering commitment to Christ, his dedication to evangelism, and his readiness to lay down his life for his beliefs serve as a source of inspiration for believers worldwide, reminding them of the profound impact of responding to the call of Christ with devotion and selflessness.
