The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America serves as the overarching administrative and spiritual authority for Greek Orthodox churches across the United States. Within this structure, individual churches, such as our Historicl Cathedral, play a crucial role in fostering religious and community growth. At the heart of each Cathedral is the Dean, a distinguished clergy member appointed to lead and guide the congregation. The Dean, often an experienced and knowledgeable priest, carries the responsibility of overseeing the spiritual and organizational aspects of the cathedral.
In conjunction with the clergy, the Board of Trustees holds a pivotal role as the elected lay leaders of the parish. Comprising dedicated members of the congregation, the Board of Trustees serves as a governing body that collaborates with the Dean to make important decisions related to the Cathedral's financial, administrative, and strategic affairs. Elected by the parishioners, these individuals embody the interests and values of the community, working diligently to ensure the sustainability and prosperity of the Cathedral for generations to come. Their commitment and leadership contribute significantly to the harmony and growth of the Greek Orthodox cathedral.
Assisting in executing the Cathedral's vision and mission is a dedicated team of staff members. These individuals, ranging from administrative personnel to volunteers, work tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation of the Cathedral. Their efforts encompass organizing religious services, managing administrative tasks, coordinating events, and supporting the overall functioning of the Cathedral. The staff, guided by the Dean, collectively strives to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for the parishioners, encouraging spiritual growth and community engagement.
